Terms and license

These terms cover Direct PDF Editor ("the app") and this website. By installing or using the app you agree to them.

1. Free trial

You may download and use the app free of charge to try it. PDFs and pictures saved by the trial carry a line at the foot of each page saying they were edited with the free trial.

2. Your license

When you buy a license, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual right to use the app, for personal or business purposes, on up to three (3) computers that you own or use. The license does not expire. You may deactivate it on one computer and activate it on another at any time.

You may not sell, rent, share or publish your license key, or copy, modify, decompile or redistribute the app, except as the law allows.

3. Updates and support

Updates to the app and support by email are included at no extra cost for as long as we develop and sell Direct PDF Editor. If we ever stop, the version you have keeps working on your computers.

4. Payment and refunds

Launch offer: orders placed up to 31 October 2026, 23:59 UTC, pay $4.99; from 1 November 2026 the price is $19.99. Licenses bought at the launch price keep every benefit for life.

Orders are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record, whose buyer terms also apply. Prices are shown in US dollars; sales tax or VAT is added where it applies. See our refund policy.

5. Your documents

Your documents remain yours. The app processes them only on your computer. You are responsible for having the right to edit the documents you edit, and for keeping backups of important files.

White-out and covering text hide it on the page but do not remove it from the file. Do not use them to redact confidential information.

6. No warranty

The app is provided "as is". We work hard to make every edit correct, but we do not guarantee that it is free of errors or that it suits every document. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

7. Third-party software

The app includes open-source components, such as PDFium, under their own licenses. Their notices are in the file THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt in the app's folder.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the version that applied when you bought keeps applying to your purchase. Questions: support@editdirectpdf.com.
